Since our last Brand Studio update, template designers have new print-production and constraint options, plus an output fix. This note covers updates released in August and September 2026.

Overprint for text, shape, and barcode frames

Overprint prints one ink on top of another instead of knocking out the inks underneath. Template designers can now turn it on in the frame properties panel:

• Text and shape frames: fill and stroke
• Barcode frames: fill and background

For text, overprint is set per text selection rather than for the whole frame. Overprint is available on print layouts only, and it takes effect only on spot colors whose secondary color is defined in CMYK. It is included in the exported PDF.

Constraints for shape frames

User constraints now also apply to shape frames, extending the constraints already available for image and text frames. Template designers can allow or restrict horizontal movement, vertical movement, rotation, and resizing. The constraints are enforced in both Design and Run modes.
