Canto Product Hub: June 30th, 2026 Updated June 25, 2026 16:21 ~ minute read Access Controls & User GroupsUser Group access controls are a new feature in Product Hub that lets Admins define what each User Group can see. Previously, all Contributor and Consumer users had unrestricted visibility into all product data — regardless of their team or scope. Now you can restrict access by Categories, Types, Catalogs, and Channels, making it easier to manage multi-brand, multi-region, or multi-team instances without exposing data users don't need. Admins can now scope each User Group's visibility across Categories, Types, Catalogs, and Channels from a new Admin → User Groups section in Product Hub The permission model is open by default — existing visibility is unchanged until you configure restrictions, so there's no disruption when the feature is first activated Access is configured at the group level; there are no individual user-level overrides Admin users are never affected — they always have full access regardless of User Group configuration User Groups are created and managed in the Canto DAM. To bring a group into Product Hub, a DAM Admin enables PIM access for that group in the DAM's User Group settings — it will then appear automatically under Admin → User Groups in Product Hub. For full setup instructions, see How to: Manage Product Hub access and privileges. Please note: Configuring User Group access controls requires Administrator privileges. User Group names, descriptions, and membership are managed in the Canto DAM and cannot be modified from within Product Hub. Asset SyncAsset Sync is a new tool in Product Hub that lets admins bulk-associate DAM assets with products in a single operation. Rather than connecting assets one at a time, you select a Canto album or folder and Product Hub automatically matches assets to products based on a SKU field in the asset metadata. Bulk-connect DAM assets to products without manual one-by-one association — select an album or folder and run the sync Product Hub matches assets to products by reading a SKU field from the asset's metadata — no manual mapping required Optional Image Attribute mapping lets you assign assets to specific image attribute slots on a product, based on a metadata field (e.g., "Image Position") with values like Front, Back, or Lifestyle Three Sync Mode options give you control over how existing associations are handled: add new associations only, clear and rebuild for assets in the selected scope, or wipe all existing associations across all products before re-associating For full setup instructions, see How to: Manage Product Assets. Please note: Asset Sync is available to Administrator users only. To access it, open the Admin menu in Product Hub (top right) and select Asset Sync.
